Newell Brands Demand Planner in Reedsburg, Wisconsin

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsibilities will include development of statistical forecasts, product/region segmentation, creation, and maintenance of demand collaboration tools, leading the team to a consensus demand forecast and summarizing analyses and outcomes for the final monthly Demand Review. This role will also drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize demand metrics such as (but not limited to) forecast accuracy, forecast bias, and E&O.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Develop demand forecasts at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons as part of a demand planning function

  • Develop and analyze performance metrics to drive process and forecast accuracy improvement (WFA, Bias trends, etc.)

  • Analyze sku trends, promotions, and planogram changes and ensure proper alignment with Sales, Trade Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain

  • Lead external customer meetings to review customer forecasts and expectations

  • Leads the statistical forecasting efforts, including appropriate model selection, outlier cleansing, and root cause analysis.

  • Develops deep understanding of markets to anticipate shifts in demand patterns and identify new demand opportunities.

  • Lead and collaborate with cross functional teams to drive process and system improvements

  • Lead the development and documentation of the demand assumptions as an input into the annual sales plan process with Sales, Finance, and Trade Marketing

  • Participate in product lifecycle planning with Sales and Trade Marketing to determine demand during new product launches, and end-of-life transitions

  • Leading monthly cross functional collaborative customer demand reviews (CDRMs) with Sales and Trade Marketing

  • Preparing and presenting the demand plan and its assumptions, drivers, and risks during the Demand Review meetings

  • Perform other duties as assigned

All job functions to be completed in compliance with federal, state, local regulations, company guidelines and policies.

REPORTS TO: Supply Chain Manager

REQUIREMENTS WORK/ EDUCATION:

  • Required: BA/BS Degree in Supply Chain, Business Management, Operations or related field with a minimum of 1-2 years of related experience. Internship experience counts towards work experience. In lieu of a degree, a high school diploma or equivalent with 3-5 years of planning experience in a Supply Chain related field.

  • Preferred: Experience using SAP/APO. Previous experience working within a Consumer Products Company.

  • Exhibits strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a results-oriented approach to identifying & resolving root-cause issues

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

  • Ability to organize and coordinate activities across functional departments

  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

  • Skilled in communicating effectively (verbal, written, listening) with a variety of individuals

  • Skilled in the use of MRP or other planning optimization tools
