Newell Brands Group Leader in Olathe, Kansas
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF JOB: Provide support and assistance to Distribution Supervisors. To coordinate the activities of the assigned Distribution staff.
MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES
Monitor work flow to ensure customer requirements and deadlines are met. Troubleshoot and adjust work flow as needed to increase/improve efficiency and accuracy.
Plan and issue work assignments as instructed by management to maintain department schedules.
Report irregular conditions such as non-observance of standard procedures, violation of company policies, equipment failures and work slowdowns.
Complete daily production and quality reports as required.
Initiates requisitions for material and supplies as needed.
Responsible for ensuring work area is kept clean and organized.
Report needed maintenance on all operating equipment and facilities.
Provide training to all assigned staff as required.
Performs such individual assignments as management may direct. KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or GED required, some college preferred
3-5 years experience in warehouse environment
Previous management experience preferred
SAP experience preferred, knowledge of T-codes a plus
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Certified to operate powered industrial trucks - including counterbalance, reach and order picker, forklift.
Must be flexible in working overtime as neededPHYSICAL DEMANDS
Physical demands include lifting and carrying 10-50 pounds, climbing ladders, pushing and pulling product, twisting and turning of the body as well as repetitive bending and hand work
Work environment includes operation of hand tools, electrical equipment and exposure to propane.
