Newell Brands Senior National Account Manager - Target in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Job Title: Sr. National Account Manager

Reports to: Sr. Director, Sales

Location: Minneapolis preferred

Job Summary:

Target Sr National Account Manager (Sr NAM) is responsible for developing, executing and fostering a collaborative business partnership between Newell Brands and Target that delivers volume, share and profit objectives for the Company across multiple product lines. Role responsible for delivering financial and distribution annual objectives across book of business. This role will build, manage and execute Joint Business Plans with the customer and work internally with cross functional team members to build and execute robust plans. Role also has 2 direct reports

Key Responsibilities:

  • The role has 2 direct reports(NAM and Analyst), responsible for developing and mentoring individuals.

  • Deliver top line invoice sales / budget targets and operating income metrics for all Food Business Unit brands: Calphalon, Ball, Food Saver, Rubbermaid and Sistema

  • Develop and execute a by customer/ by category joint business plan that delivers on customer and company annual objectives.

  • Works with Newell Brands and Target demand planning and customer supply chain staff to develop accurate sales forecasts and achieve specified levels of forecast accuracy.

  • Lead process for managing trade spend/customer programs in collaboration with trade and finance through management of internal TPM system

  • Negotiates and manages trade funds to create customer and company value by consistently measuring and enforcing trade terms and identifying opportunities for improvement

  • Build excellent customer relationships with buyers and cross functional customer team members (Planners, Supply Chain, etc)

  • Lead and communicate important initiatives and needs of the customer to deliver collaborative objectives.

  • Use Consumer Insight and Share Data and customer specific system data, information systems to maximize market share, sales, and profits.

  • Leverages our brands and product mix to improve profitability and meet customer, shopper, and Newell Brands targets

  • Works with trade to implement methods that assist our customers in effectively and creatively winning with consumers, shoppers, end-users, and purchasers through promotions, packaging and merchandising.

  • Responsible for leading and negotiating Joint Business Plan Process with Target

  • Monitors the competitors' brands and products as well as our market share, competitor market share, and target market share to understand shopper trends and opportunities and communicating to appropriate sales, trade and brand management

  • Build and own 3 year Growth Strategy

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration

  • Target experience supporting +$100M book of business

  • 10-12 years sales and/or channel and trade management experience

  • Experience selling general merchandise or consumer products goods

  • Strong project management skills, particularly with organization and prioritization of key initiatives

  • Ability to thrive and be flexible in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; must be able to present data in an organized manner

  • Exemplary attention to detail

  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and exceptional drive for results

  • Strong financial acumen, P&L management and experience entering and managing trade management tools

  • Robust experience and strengths in interpreting and understanding syndicated IRI and customer provided

  • Ability to review promotional recaps/analysis, determine conclusions and drive future business decisions from them data and developing a plan to re-act to the identified insights. Particularly syndicated data (IRI,Nielson) and acute attention to details

  • Conflict Management/Composure with customers and internally within the company

  • Advanced skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point

  • 15% Travel
