GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY:

Reporting to the Technical Manager, the Molding Engineer is responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating molding engineering projects according to predetermined timelines and budgets, drive productivity, manage mold process training, ensure that the molding department has the correct technical resources to drive results for the business and work with R&D to manage product life cycle.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Manage project development from initiation to closure.

· Drive project ideation by analyzing production monitoring data and maintenance data.

· Be accountable for project results along with project sponsor.

· Work with project sponsor and stakeholders to complete project charter outlining scope, goals, deliverables, required resources, budget, and timing.

· Assemble and coordinate project team.

· Resolve any issues and solve problems throughout product life cycle.

· Ensure all machines/mold meet OSHA and ANSI safety standards

· Effectively manage project scope by ensuring any changes to scope are documented and approved throughout the project life cycle.

· Work with R&D to ensure print and part accuracy.

· Track and report on project milestones and provide status reports to project sponsor.

· Determine how results will be measured and complete a post-project evaluation to determine how well results were achieved.

· Ensure all project documents are archived following project completion.

· Keep updated on the latest molding technologies and how they can be applied to current business model.

· Keep updated on the latest mold processing technologies and how they can be applied to current business model.

· Work with Sourcing team to help manage outside molding assets for the business.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

· Must be able to walk, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, reach and grasp for varying periods of time during working hours.

· Must be able to tolerate high temperatures while working in the plant, especially during the summer months.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.

· Experience with Systematic molding principles.

· Experience with close tolerance, high cavitation injection molds.

· Experience with hot runner technologies.

· Design and integration experience.

· Robotic experience.
