Newell Brands Quality Systems Manager - CCS Division in Huntersville, North Carolina

Job Summary:

The Manager of Quality Systems leads, coordinates and performs activities associated with the Quality Management Systems (QMS) and other quality processes as it relates to both manufactured and supplied product. This Manager of Quality Systems will develop, drive, and implement a Quality Management System across the Organization with standardization as a key driver, and oversee compliance of operations in accordance with corporate expectations. This Quality Systems Manager will assist in the development and implementation of divisional operational quality metrics and KPIs that drive the overall COF initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive andImplement the Quality Management System throughout the manufacturingfacilities.

  • Develop, driveand lead the continuous improvement efforts of the Quality Management System.

  • Provideguidance for the audit activities for the sites and perform GAP analysisagainst QMS

  • Supportinitiatives to drive integration of quality system requirements and ensurecompliance.

  • Motivateand enhance a compliance culture throughout the sites.

  • Support anelectronic database implementation and improvements with current quality systems

  • Develop, driveand implement quality policies processes and procedures, and quality systemdevelopment as required for plant operations and suppliers.

  • Support overallSupplier Assessment and Quality Strategies.

  • Assist in the implementationand management of customer complaint process and metrics (customer &consumer).

  • Develop metricgoals annually and drive adherence.


  • Bachelor’s degreein Quality Management, Engineering or Science discipline

  • Expertisein quality system standards and implementation

  • 10+ years’experience implementing and managing Quality Management Systems

  • 10+ years ofoperations/manufacturing experience preferably consumer products

  • 5+ years qualitysystem auditing experience

  • ISO/QS/TS qualitysystem knowledge and auditing experience

  • Thoroughknowledge of quality methods and systems is required (statistics, reliability,sampling and auditing)

  • ASQ certifiedQuality Auditor (CQA), Quality Engineer (CQE) or Quality Manager (CQM) ispreferred

  • An experiencedbackground in various types of manufacturing.Specific knowledge in the plastics and metals commodities is preferred.

  • Superior interpersonaland communication skills and proven ability to work in a matrix organization

  • Strong networkingskills and ability to lead and influence others at all levels of theorganization. Able to work effectively with individuals including internal andexternal customers, at all levels and widely varied disciplines

  • SixSigma Green/Black belt desirable

  • Managementexperience a benefit but not required

  • Travel: 30% Domestic travel and potential International travel required
