Newell Brands Key Account Manager - CCS Division in Huntersville, North Carolina

JobSummary:

The Key Account Manager for Foodservice/Hospitality/BOH Retail is responsible for managing key categories, customers, and segments within national accounts to deliver top line sales revenue and profitability targets.

JobResponsibilities:

CustomerRelationship Management:

  • Managesrelationship with key influencers, power structures, and hierarchy at thecustomer and end-user

  • Findscreative approaches to create wins in difficult situations

  • Presentsnew ideas, trends, and data and recommends pilot and test programs to thecustomer

  • Establishestrust and credibility by demonstrating clear understanding of how the customerdefines value

  • Developsan operating rhythm of joint meetings to manage opportunities, negotiations,and issues that deliver value

  • Addressescustomer concerns/needs and elevates as appropriate to sales management

CustomerPlanning and Execution:

  • Executesthe joint business plan to grow both the customer’s and Newell Rubbermaid’s

  • business

  • Workswith channel, finance, and supply chain to execute strategies and plans

  • Managesend-user pricing and P&L to meet divisional sales and gross margin targets

Market, Channel,& Category Understanding:

  • ReviewsCOG, POS and market sales data to more effectively and strategically manageaccounts and segments

  • Identifiesand communicates category growth opportunities within customer offering

  • Monitorsthe competitors’ brands and products as well as our market share, competitormarket share, and target market share to understand trends and opportunities

FinancialManagement:

  • Appliesa strong understanding of GBU goals, priorities, and account P&L (marginand mix) when managing activity and promotions

  • Leveragesour brands and product mix to improve profitability and meet customer andNewell Rubbermaid targets

  • Managesprograms and promotional funding as well as returns and damages with territoryor account base to maximize top and bottom line results

  • Workswith demand planning to develop accurate sales forecasts and achievingspecified levels of forecast accuracy

  • Ensuresthat product mix and pricing hit key shopper price points while managingcompany and customer profit

  • Trackscompany and competitor pricing across customer base

  • Monitorsthe impact of price on sell through

  • Takesresponsibility for and identifies opportunities for personal development

  • Workswith customer and internal sellers to ensure understanding of our products andsolutions

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors/Universitydegree in Business Administration (or related field)

  • 4-6+years of sales and/or trade experience

  • StrongPersuasive / Sales Ability / Negotiation Skills

  • Experiencewith building and managing a joint business plan

  • Advancedskills using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SalesForce.com

  • Understandingof general business financials and how these relate to customer programs anddecision making

  • Strongproblem-solving abilities and resolute attitude to complete tasks

  • Solidanalytical skills and acute attention to details

  • Self-motivatedwith a strong work ethic and exceptional drive for results

  • Excellentwritten and verbal communication skills; must be able to present data in anorganized manner

  • Demonstratedability to handle multiple tasks and assignments simultaneously

  • ConflictManagement/Composure; Technical Knowledge

  • 30%to 50% Travel depending on geography/span of control
