Newell Brands Manager, DTC Pricing & Planning in Hoboken, New Jersey

Position Title: Manager, DTC Pricing & Planning

Reports to: Director, DTC, Newell Brands

Location: Hoboken, NJ

The Pricing and Planning Manager is responsible for all aspects of merchandising planning and implementing pricing strategies to maximize Direct to Consumer performance against sales and profit goals.

Job Responsibilities:

Pricing Analysis & Execution

  • Create pricing strategies for Direct to Consumer business to drive incremental revenue growth and margin

  • Apply various pricing techniques including everyday pricing, promotional pricing, and markdown pricing to achieve business goals

  • Measure effectiveness of existing pricing strategies, make recommendations to Trade Marketing and Finance teams and gain alignment

  • Conduct price elasticity studies to find incremental growth opportunities

  • Conduct competitive analysis and benchmark DTC prices with the market

  • Manage in-house or external pricing tools to manage and optimize Pricing

  • Evaluate pricing tools and technologies and come up with recommendations for improving pricing operations

  • Manage pricing updates on the websites, ensure that accurate pricing is flowing to the websites via different tools and platform and have business ownership of the pricing systems

  • Lead collection of internal and external pricing data needed to understand pricing differences between DTC and Marketplace

  • Create pricing dashboards to capture pricing KPIs and establish metrics relating to pricing and promotional activity and monitor performance against these metrics

  • Collaborate with Analytics team on understanding overall web metrics and informing pricing decisions

  • Support the Analytics team in the implementation of the DTC P&L

  • Maintain booking order and approval documentations, and conduct manual price override reviews as directed by Internal Audit team for SOX compliance

Merchandising Planning & Forecasting

  • Oversee forecast of department, brand, category, and SKU level sales by taking into consideration merchandising strategy and other factors

  • Partner with Merchandising on planning and forecasting for promotions and other initiatives

  • Create forecasts and build business cases for new business initiatives including new DTC selling channels

  • Lead reviews of key performance indicators with sales, margin, in-stock rate, sell-thru, etc.

  • Support the development, implementation & execution of new business processes, planning tools and merchandise systems technology

  • Work with Demand Planning team to ensure that the DTC forecasts and plans are integrated into larger demand and supply plans


  • Bachelor’s Degree in an analytics field required. Masters in an analytical field preferred

  • 4+ years’ experience in pricing, planning, buying, finance or related field required

  • Experience with dynamic pricing systems and pricing tools and technologies preferred

  • Strong analytical and communication skills required

  • Retail, eCommerce, or CPG Direct to Consumer experience preferred

  • Ability to manage several work streams together and switch between different initiatives

  • Ability to collaborate cross functionally across groups like Trade Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, Merchandising and Operations

  • Ability to manage complexity and scale

  • Candidate should have excellent communication skills both presentation and verbal and should be comfortable engaging with colleagues at all levels
