Associate Manager, eCommerce Direct-to-Consumer (Outdoor)

We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Associate Manager of Site Merchandising to join our team. As a leading direct-to-consumer (DTC) retailer specializing in outerwear and sportswear, we are dedicated to providing our customers with high-quality and performance-driven apparel. The Site Merchandiser will be responsible for executing the merchandising strategy across Marmot and Exofficio brand sites. The ideal candidate should possess a background in eCommerce merchandising or buying, with a blend of analytical and creative skills. This role requires collaboration with various cross-functional teams, including Brand, Marketing, Planning, and Digital Technology, to develop new strategies for growing the direct eCommerce business across all brands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute on the DTC vision; leveraging collaboration with cross-functional partners within the eCommerce division and across the larger enterprise.

  • Lead pre-season and in-season merchandising strategy and execution on DTC websites, including the site merchandising calendar, new product launches, and site content.

  • Create and own the execution of the merchandising calendar across the portfolio of brands.

  • Leverage the support of brand partners to maintain the site catalog, ensuring a comprehensive assortment while managing product lifecycle.

  • Coordinate with planners to allocate inventory across the assortment and ensure coverage on feature products.

  • Collaborate with the division on multi-seasonal strategies to ensure the health of the brands as well as DTC's best interests (MAP policies, marketing support, E&O alignment, etc.).

  • Collaborate with the Creative and Production teams in creating content for DTC websites that will increase conversion.

  • Ensure best-in-class merchandising capabilities are aligned with the unique customer needs, including upsells, cross-sells, enhanced content, etc.

  • Assist in prioritizing merchandising initiatives by collaborating with Tech and Analytics teams to identify the highest ROI initiatives.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative promotions and pricing strategies for direct eCommerce business, ensuring alignment with business goals and avoiding channel conflict with the indirect channel.

Candidate Profile

The candidate is a strategic thinker with a passion for eCommerce. With a background of 3+ years of experience in eCommerce merchandising, they possess a strong understanding of eCommerce platforms and best practices. Their creative, analytical, and detail-oriented nature, combined with excellent communication and collaboration skills, make them well-equipped to drive growth and success in the online retail space.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Merchandising, Marketing, Business, or similar field.

  • 3+ years of experience in eCommerce merchandising, preferably in the apparel or outdoor industry.

  • Strong understanding of eCommerce platforms and online merchandising best practices.

  • Creative eye for visual merchandising and product presentation.

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and insights to drive decision-making.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.

  • Passion for outdoor activities and sportswear, with a keen interest in performance-driven apparel and trends is a plus.

  • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to both work in startup-like environments and within a large matrixed organization.
