Newell Brands Automation Reliability Associate (B shift) in Gastonia, North Carolina
Position Title: Automation Reliability Associate
Reports to: Process Planning Leader
Location: Gastonia, NC
B Shift - Thursday - Saturday (5:30am -6:00pm)
Looking for a mechanically inclined and computer savvy individual who is willing and eager to learn the Automation and Autonomous Mobile Vehicle Hardware and Software to help fully utilize the vehicles around the plant.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Front line individual who is responsible for ensuring maximum Automation productivity within the operational scope
Respond to automation breakdown texts and emails, troubleshoot the system when there is a fault
Regularly monitor and report on the Analytics KPI Dashboard, responsible for meeting and exceeding daily metrics
Improve uptime Busy Percentage as a Key Performance Indicator
Track number of pickups and drop offs as Key Performance Indicator
Reduce number of breakdowns per shift
Reduce percentage of time of waiting on order
Provide transparency and communications of issues and improvements to supervisors between shifts
Improve the Automation process by recommending improvements to warehouse supervisor and engineering team
Help locate, improve, and/or 6S new pallet square when needed to increase Automation utilization
Keep the floor clean of debris like wood chips, stray objects, and plastic wrap by sweeping with broom and using cleaning machine when necessary
Responsible for safe operation of vehicles and completion of daily Automation checklists
Responsible for reporting any incidents immediately to your supervisor or team lead and being a part of safety reviews
Help with future Newell Global Supply Chain Automation deployments as requested

Mechanical and Technical aptitude
Comfortable with computers
Willing to learn new things
Likes a new challenge and continuous improvement
Must have valid forklift license
Ability to work well with others
Ability to work overtime or call-ins as necessary
Be in good standing
Communication – ability to communicate verbally or non-verbally
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be a current member of the Newell Material Handling team
Must be comfortable working with a computer and tablet
Must be dedicated to safe vehicle operation
Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds
Must be able to walk, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, reach and grasp for varying periods of time during a consecutive 12 hour
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or GED
Forklift experience
