Newell Brands Engineer, Advanced Manufacturing in Del Rio, Texas

Position Title: Advanced Manufacturing Engineeer

Location: Acuna, MX

Reports to: Director of Advanced Manufacturing Engineering


Provide Manufacturing Engineering support & support new product development efforts Newell Brands manufacturing facilities.



Process development and procurement of manufacturing equipment for new and existing products as needed throughout the corporation including:

  • Reviewand critique of product designs for cost and manufacturing

  • Prepareappropriation requests and appropriately manage spending

  • Specifyrequirements for manufacturing equipment

  • Solicitquotations, qualify suppliers, and select equipment vendors

  • Reviewprocess equipment progress and manage delivery schedule

  • Implementautomated processes for labor reductions

  • Actas liaison between Design and Manufacturing.Work issues to cost, capacity, and timing of introduction

  • Pilotand debug manufacturing processes for production based environments

  • Recommendphysical changes to manufacturing locations for appropriate equipmentinstallation

Perform relevant engineering considerations/exercises inclusive of the following:

  • Make/Buyanalysis and capacity evaluations

  • Productvalue analysis. Implement projects toreduce total costs

  • Propose,evaluate, and implement alternate processes for quality improvements, costreductions, and capacity increases

  • Troubleshoot process problems

  • Participatein the development of BOM’s and labor routings

Additional duties to include but not be limited to:

  • Provideinput to various manufacturing locations on process limitations

  • Broadadditional Manufacturing Engineering responsibilities may be required asdictated by AME project load


Special consideration given to candidates with a minimum of 5 years of pertinent experience in Manufacturing Engineering.

Automation experience and design preferred.

BS degree in Mechanical Engineering required

Must be able to read and understand engineering drawings.

Conversational Spanish preferred.
