Position Title: Key Account Manager

Location : Remote or Chicago, IL

Reports To: Sales Director

Summary:

Based remotely or in Chicago, IL, the Key Account Manager will be responsible for working with Grocery & Gray Market customers for the Outdoor and Recreation Division. The Key Account Manager (KAM) is responsible for managing the customer/category day to day operations while delivering sales and profitability targets for their account base. Maximize the availability of our products in the appropriate channels of distribution consistent with our brand strategy with an emphasis on superior new product execution. Execute consumer and shopper driven strategies for their customers that enable Newell to achieve best in class results. Utilize leading edge data, information systems, and metrics around financial, brand, and shopper trends to maximize market share, sales, and profits through price optimization for Newell Brands and our customers. Build customer relationships at the buyer and senior buyer levels and facilitates connectivity in other functional areas including Marketing, Supply Chain, Communications and Operations. Deliver results while maintaining the highest level of integrity. Responsibilities:

  • Deliver salesand profitability targets.

  • Build customer relationships at the buyer level andfacilitates connectivity in other functional areas.

  • Executes consumer and shopper driven strategies fortheir customers

  • Use data, information systems, and metrics around financial,brand, and shopper trends to maximize market share, sales, and profits.

  • Lead process for managingtrade spends/customer programs in collaboration with trade and financethrough management of internal TPM system.

  • May provide analytical andpresentation support for National Account Managers on larger accounts

  • Lead the Business Segment on the needs of theCustomer.

  • Develop and execute Customer& Category Strategic Development and annual operating plan.

  • Negotiates and manages tradefunds to create customer and company value by consistently measuring andenforcing trade terms and identifying opportunities for improvement

  • Works with demand planning todevelop accurate sales forecasts and achieve specified levels of forecastaccuracy Monitors the competitors' brands and products as well as ourmarket share, competitor market share, and target market share tounderstand shopper trends and opportunities and communicating toappropriate sales, trade and brand management

  • Collaborates with trademarketing to provide and explain market data to the customer

  • Works with trade to implementmethods that assist our customers in effectively and creatively winningwith consumers, shoppers, end-users, and purchasers through promotions,packaging and merchandising.

  • Leverages our brands andproduct mix to improve profitability and meet customer, shopper, andNewell Brands targets

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors/University degree

  • 5+ years of field sales and/ortrade experience

  • Persuasive/ Sales Ability / Negotiation Skills

  • Experience with a minimum $10M bookof business

  • Background in dealing withselling “the bag” of multiple brands across many categories

  • Initiative &follow-through

  • Solid analytical skills andacute attention to details

  • Strong project managementskills

  • Self-motivated with astrong work ethic and exceptional drive for results

  • Advanced skills usingMicrosoft Word, Excel, and Power Point

  • Ability to thrive in afast-paced environment

  • Proven ability to leadcross functional team

  • Excellent written and verbalcommunication skills; must be able to present data in an organized manner

  • Demonstrated ability tohandle multiple tasks and assignments simultaneously

  • ConflictManagement/Composure; Technical Knowledge

  • 25-30% Travel
