Job Title: Store Manager - Yankee Candle (Brookfield,WI)
Reports to: District Sales Manager
Job Summary: Responsible for the following: management and leadership of an assigned Yankee Candle Store and driving daily sales performance; maintaining service and operational standards; supervising, coaching, counseling and training staff on sales program; ensuring adequate staffing through consistent recruiting and networking efforts; providing superior customer service; maintaining store facilities; ensuring safety and security for guests and staff; effectively managing the store inventory, preparing cash reports and merchandise orders; and other similar duties pertaining to the management of a retail store.
Primary Duties &Responsibilities:
Drive store sales and profitability plan to meet orexceed sales revenue to budget. Maintains current knowledge of product,merchandise, store policy and company information in order to provide highquality and informed guest service.
Responsible for recruiting, hiring, training anddeveloping a sales oriented team that will achieve the goals for the yearin the Guest Experience Shop score.
Model, teach and demonstrate exemplary guest servicestandards in the store per company best practice.
Responsible for all visual presentation and operationalstandards by ensuring the effective implementation of all visualand operational direction with urgency and proper planning. Ensurethat total presentation and display of merchandise is impactful, customerfocused and maximizes sales. Ensure that standards are being followedincluding plan-o-grams, cleanliness, marketing/signage and salespromotions.
Handle both positive/negative human resource-relatedissues through addressing employee concerns; complete annual andintroductory performance appraisals; lead through coaching, documenting,praising/rewarding, and disciplining as necessary.
Control expenses through the proper use of the labormodel, proper scheduling, inventory results achieving targets, and monitorcontrollable expenses that impact the store’s bottom line profit.
Ensure a safe and healthy workplace and shoppingenvironment for our employees and guests. Maintain a safe and healthyworkplace and shopping environment for our employees and guests. Carry outstore safety, security and related procedures, as established. Activelymanage store safety using the tools provided and through the proactiveidentification and resolution of issues. Implement and execute allrequired safety activities.
Uses a computer to process information andtransactions. Prepares cash reports and merchandise orders and isresponsible for other similar duties pertaining to the management of aretail store.
Ability to perform all duties of the other roles withinthe store.

Financial Responsibilities: Responsible for maintaining store budget of controllable and non-controllable expense
Work Relationships (INTERNAL): Other members of the retail chain (including District Sales Manager, Regional Sales Manager, and Human Resources Generalist); partners in the areas of Operations and Finance.
Work Relationships(EXTERNAL): Yankee Candle Company guests and/or vendors
Education: High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience
Related Experience: 3+ years’ demonstrated supervisory/management experience in a specialty retail sales environment or similar fast paced, customer service environment preferred.
Skills Required: Demonstrated ability to effectively lead/direct, coach and train others in a retail setting, and the ability to relate well using communication, interpersonal, diplomacy and related skills. Previous experience in a retail sales environment with increasing levels of responsibility and strong working knowledge of general retail practices and procedures. Strong customer service skills and the ability to sell products. Experience in a specialty retail environment. Ability to use a computer to process information and transactions.
Working Conditions/ Physical Demands : Typical Retail Store environment. Please reference Work Environmental Checklist for this job. Flexibility in work schedule is required including the ability to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays as operational need may require.
