Newell Brands Senior Manager - Finance in Brampton, Ontario

Job Summary:

This position reports to the Director of Business Planning and Analysis (BP&A), Newell Brands Canada. Responsibilities include providing the support needed to deliver solid financial results and business analysis for the Business Unit. The primary responsibility will be to provide finance and decision support to Sales & Marketing teams providing direction and contributing to profitable growth plans. This individual will work closely with the local functional business partners and Business Unit finance teams. This role will require active involvement in the month end, forecast, and annual planning cycles for the Business Unit. This individual will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Corporate policy, collaborating with other Business Unit finance leads and implementing BP&A process improvements. This position will have one direct report.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Unit business advisor with P&L ownershipand oversight

  • Oversee all monthend closing, forecasting and budgeting cycles

  • Responsiblefor all aspects of the monthly management reporting process

  • Analyze andreview customer P&L’s

  • Reviewproduct profitability / category profitability

  • Investmentspend analytics and decision support

  • Drive accountabilityfor achieving financial targets

  • Ad hocprojects as assigned

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’sDegree with Accounting Designation

  • Minimum 10-12years of applicable experience in Accounting/Finance field

  • Supervisoryexperience

  • Excellent communication skills(written and verbal) and the ability to build relationships and influencepeople across all levels in a matrix organization

  • Strong business acumen,business partnering experience

  • Comfortable working withmultiple functions/ management levels

  • Effectively prioritizesmultiple demands and heavy workload

  • Strong analytical, data modeling, variance analysis and problem-solvingskills

  • Advancedproficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relational database tools

  • Abilityto analyze large amounts of data and present complex information in simpleterms

  • Experiencein setting up new processes to reduce complexity

  • Significanttrack record of independently driving initiatives and taking responsibility fordelivering stated outcomes regardless of challenges encountered

  • Personal qualities: Detail-oriented,resilient, results-driven, proactive, resourceful,positive, collaborative

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SAP experience
