Position Title: Vice President, Global Process – Record to Report (RtR)
Location: Atlanta, GA
Reports to: SVP, Global Business Services
The Vice President, Global Process - Record to Report (RtR) will report to the SVP Global Business Services and is responsible for the end to end global process design and governance for Record to Report (RtR), with emphasis on global process standardization and optimization across the business. Drives the strategic direction for the RtR process transformation and supports the implementation of multi-divisional initiatives including enterprise resource planning (ERP) and other enabling technologies with focus in Finance.
Core Job Responsibilities
Set the strategic direction forglobal process design, working directly with Controllership,Tax & Treasury, Corporate BP&A, and the Global Business Services ServiceDelivery teams to advance the target operating model and deliver processtransformation.
In consultation with business andoperational teams, lead identification, prioritization, and delivery of processimprovements, ensuring they support organizational outcomes and businessresults. Define and implement the Record to Report Roadmap to deliver targetedbusiness benefits and ease of process use for the end user.
Collaborate with Controllership, Tax& Treasury, Corporate BP&A, and the Global Business Services leadershipto ensure global alignment of priorities, management, and influence of resultsthrough working in a matrixed environment.
Collaborate with IT on ERP programinitiatives and deployment of other enabling technologies.
Establish and sustain end to endglobal process design, chairing the Process Council for global, RtR end to endprocesses.
Drive adoption of global processstandards and gain buy-in from key stakeholders.
Establish and sustain process changecontrol for RtR end to end process.
Provide process expertise for sharedservice migrations, business integrations including mergers, acquisitions anddivestiture activities.
Identify, drive, and monitorcontinuous improvement related to the RtR process area and create opportunitiesto bring service innovation to Newell Brands across the end to end process.
Ensure adequate and timely rootcause analysis to understand problem drivers and implementation of necessarycorrections and/or changes.
Define and implement KPIs andperformance measures associated with the end to end process. Lead benchmarkingactivities and continuous assessment of global process performance measures,driving measurable improvements in the process over time.
Identify and drive processautomation including robotics for the process area.
Establish and maintain effective workingrelationships across the Finance functions. Act as a liaison with Newell BrandsDivisions and Corporate business partners, and other customers.
Proactively monitor cross-functionaland enterprise wide initiatives that impact people, processes, and technologyto ensure alignment, maintain agility, and mitigate disruption to the globalprocess agenda through frequent communication with business partners including Controllership,Tax & Treasury, Corporate BP&A, and Global Business Services leadership,finance transformation leadership, functional stakeholders including DivisionalCFO’s, and Internal Audit and external auditors. Position Scope& Accountability
Work closely with Controllership,Tax & Treasury, Corporate BP&A, and the Global Business Servicesleadership related to business strategy, business case development, andbusiness design decision making.
Work with/be supported by functionalprocess managers/process stewards for both strategic and legacy businessprocess and systems in the divisions/countries and shared services operations.
Identify and lead opportunities forchange management at a senior level, which is essential for securing buy-infrom senior management.
Must be viewed as the process leaderwithin the Finance function and other organizations associated with the end toend process, as the position will be responsible for influencing all levels of NewellBrands, from executives to staff members across the Finance function(Division/Finance executives, Finance CFO’s/Controllers, etc.) and operatingunit’s business management at the Corporate, Division, Region, Area, andCountry levels.
Interact effectively with leadersacross Controllership, Tax & Treasury, Corporate BP&A, Global BusinessServices, and with other functions as new processes are designed andimplemented (Information technology, Internal/external audit, Legal, Compliance,etc.).
Strategic Thinker ANDdetail oriented . Thinks strategically and connects the E2E process to the goals of the business. Must also be comfortable in the detail, with a broad understanding of the transactions, how they are performed, where the levers are and how they can be improved.
LeadershipSkills. Position has multiple leadership roles, each with different stakeholders. The position could lead the team performing the E2E process, play a lead role in developing the GBS organization, and have led the expansion of the process across the organization. Authoritative, transformational and charismatic styles work well.
Action Oriented. Biased toward action, comfortable taking some risks and willing to make mid-course corrections.
High Degree ofProcess & Functional Knowledge. Understanding the E2E process as well as the operational organization allows the position to lead transformation as well as continuous improvement, and standardization initiatives
BS degree in Accounting, Finance, orGeneral Management.
Accounting certification such as ACCA,CPA or equivalent preferred; MBA preferred.
Minimum 15 years of Finance andAccounting experience in a complex multinational organization, 5 of those yearsfrom transaction through to close, inclusive of external and internal financialreporting.
Demonstrated experience managingaccounting and/or finance teams in a complex and global environment.
Full P&L and Balance sheetexperience for a complex global organization a plus.
Demonstrable experience of executingprocess transformation initiatives or delivering enterprise systems.
Experience and background in evaluatingbusiness risk and implementing financial controls.
In-depth understanding of SAP orother major ERP systems capabilities.
Program and project managementexperience required.
Formal continuous improvementtraining (e.g. LEAN / Six Sigma) desirable.
Senior stakeholder managementexperience with ability to influence & persuade key stakeholders and toconstructively deal with conflicts.
Ability to work and collaborate withothers, to consider the needs of all affected groups, and to build/leverage relationshipsacross functions and organizations to achieve business results. Decisive yetcollaborative leadership style.
Ability to work with others in aformal process for solving issues and problems.
Strong written and oralcommunication skills.
Shared Service experience desirable.
