Newell Brands Senior Manager - Sourcing in Atlanta, Georgia

Position Title: Senior Manager, Sourcing

Reports to: Director, Sourcing

Location: Atlanta, GA

Responsible for category management, while leading the development and execution of global sourcing strategies. This position will be an active driver and contributor of productivity, working capital improvements, continuity of supply, and all other commercial needs. Major internal customers within the business include associates from R & D, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, & Quality. The position will work in collaboration with a regional sourcing execution team to manage activities in the region with suppliers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate effectively across the broad sourcing organization to leverage economies scale, maximize resource efficiency and improve sourcing productivity.

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for global categories that encompass the following:

  • Productivity: Develop pipeline opportunities to ensure delivery of annual gross productivity targets

  • Market Events: Geographical Optimization, Dual sourcing, Tier 2 Supplier Management

  • Supplier Assessments: Supplier Qualification, Financial Health Assessments, Capability Verification

  • Working capital improvements: Payment terms extensions and or discounts, Lead Time Optimization, Inventory reductions

  • Supply Chain Optimization: MOQ optimization, Mix Container opportunities for low volume categories, Supplier Inventory Management

  • Responsible for commercial activities with designated suppliers including but not limited to the following:

  • Contract Management

  • Annual Negotiations

  • Supplier Performance Management

  • RFX Activities

  • Product Development Support

  • Regulatory Compliance Support

  • Social Compliance Support

  • Works well with minimal supervision in a mutually supportive, collaborative, fast-paced team environment

  • Plans, organizes, and influences the efforts of domestic and global suppliers as well as a variety of internal functional groups within the organization

Qualifications:

  • 8-10 years of sourcing experience or demonstrated performance managing comparable scope of responsibility

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a business, engineering or related field; MBA preferable.

  • Demonstrated track record of leading teams and driving change

  • Demonstrated track record of delivering results within complex categories

  • Global sourcing experience in consumer products is preferred.

  • Must have good communication, interpersonal and analytical skills.

  • Must be highly motivated and able to drive results independently and as part of a team
