Reports to: Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer

Job Summary

The Director, Data Privacy will lead and manage all global support services for the organization’s data protection and privacy compliance framework. This role will manage global data privacy and information management policies, procedures, training and implementation, and will oversee compliance. The Director, Data Privacy will report to the Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer and will work closely with the organization’s executive team and senior management to provide support, guidance, counseling and training on a broad range of data privacy, regulatory and information management matters.

PrimaryResponsibilities

  • Provideguidance and counseling to the organization regarding compliance with globaldata protection laws and regulations, including the European Union GeneralData Protection Regulation (GDPR), California Consumers Protection Act(CCPA), and similar regulations.

  • Implementand support a privacy governance framework to manage data use in compliancewith applicable data privacy regulations and policies.

  • Workwith internal stakeholders in the review of projects and related data toensure compliance with local data privacy laws.

  • Collaboratewith executive leadership and organization’s Data Privacy Committee(“DPC”) to establish, refine and manage effective data protection andprivacy governance activities.

  • Manageand oversee effective reporting processes and standards, includingdeveloping and implementing routine and ad hoc management and governancereporting and metrics.

  • Developand maintain standard data protection and privacy contractual clauses, andprovide advice and assist with negotiations with suppliers relating todata protection and information security provisions.

  • Providesupport for responses to data subject requests for information, includingaccess to, correction and deletion of their personal data and the exerciseof their rights.

  • Providesupport to Data Protection Impact Assessments.

  • Monitorchanges to applicable privacy laws and manage necessary adjustments toassure ongoing compliance.

  • Preparematerials and conduct training to support data privacy programs andcompliance.

  • Supportbusiness teams in creating and maintaining accurate and up-to-date recordsthat demonstrate compliance with applicable regulations and policies,including impact assessments, security breach response, complaints, claimsor notifications, and responding to subject access requests.

  • Collaboratewith Information Security and other functions to raise employee awarenessof data privacy and security issues, and provide necessary training.

  • Supportthe DPC to assess and manage risks associated with processing of personaldata.

  • Manageregulatory responses to incidents involving data security, in collaborationwith Legal Services, Information Security and affected business units.

Qualifications

  • Seven+ years of experience working within acompliance, legal, audit and/or risk function, with recent experience inprivacy compliance.

  • Experience managing, implementing or advisingGDPR compliance is preferred.

  • College degree required.

  • Legal degree preferred.

  • At least one data protection or privacycertification such as CIPP, CIPT, ISEB, etc. preferred.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong knowledge of EU data privacyand data protection regulation, and a good understanding of other majorprivacy frameworks and evolving legislation worldwide.

  • Well-developed and professionalinterpersonal skills; ability to interact effectively with people at allorganizational levels.

  • Strong change and projectmanagement skills, including the ability to manage personnel, prioritizeeffectively and handle multiple deadlines.

  • Ability to undertake large,long-term projects, develop alternative methods to complete them, andimplement solutions.

  • Ability to handle confidential andsensitive information with the appropriate discretion.

  • Some international travel will berequired.
