Newell Brands Assistant Manager, Sales Planning in Atlanta, Georgia
Position Title: Assistant – Sales Planning
Location: Fishers, IN or Atlanta, GA
Reports to: Manager, Sales Planning
The role of this job is to commercialize sales and marketing programs within assigned channels or customers of distribution and to identify channel-specific business-building opportunities; work cross functionally to deliver sales and profit results through commercialization of the overarching brand/trade strategies to the customer/channel.
Specific responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Customer Planning and Execution
Contributes to the annual salesplanning process relative to area of responsibility.
Partnerswith sales team to ensures plans are built to meet division sales budget andtrade spend guidelines.
ExecutesDSMP plans in assigned channels to meet division goals to align with brand andbusiness unit strategic plans
Plans trade spend strategy tomaximize ROI for both Newell and retail partners.
Quantifies and identifies risks andopportunities to achieving sales budget.
Forescasting, Pricing, and Trade FundManagement
Manages Customer Monthly and outmonths/quarter internal sales calls.
Generates promotional P&L’s toensure sales and profit metrics are being achieved.
Prepares product mix recommendations.
For the retail partner/at thecustomer level,
For the business profitability
Understands what trade funds or customerprogram spend is available or needed for programming.
Analyzes the effectiveness of tradespend within area of responsibility.
Market, Shopper, and Channel / End-UserInsights
Compiles market, shopper / end-user,and channel knowledge gaps and creates a summary for the business toreview.
Manages timelines and deliverablesfor all line/catalog reviews
Bachelor's degree (emphasis in business/marketingor related field), MBA or other advanced degree highly preferred
Possesses creative problem solvingskills to overcome barriers and close opportunities.
Ability to think creatively, generate options,build consensus, and execute.
Comfort dealing with ambiguity and a fast-pacedentrepreneurial environment.
Aptitude for both strategic thinking anddetail-oriented operational management.
Collaborating with partners and otherorganizations to achieve results
Up to10% travel may be required
Fluent in English (verbal andwritten)
Preferred 1-3 years of experience working with aleading CPG company (Trade Marketing, Sales, Finance, or related position)
