Title: Assistant Manager of Displays and Merchandising – Food Division
Location: Atlanta, GA
The Display and Merchandising Assistant will report to the Display Associate Manager, Brand Activation to lead, develop and execute best-in-class temporary, semi-permanent and/or permanent merchandising solutions for the Food Division. This role manages internal and external resources in achieving display objectives for each brand and meeting timelines.
Primary responsibilities include leading cross-functional teams, managing display projects from inception to execution, tracking and supporting the display development process, understanding scale and cost implications, and managing display selling catalogs.
Best In Class Merchandising
Leads the management and continuous enhancement of the Newell Display Catalog.
Supports the creation and implementation of relevant Seasonal displays
Manages 3rd party display supplier to create enhanced, disruptive displays that drive top line sales, profit and gross margin.
Leads the creation and execution of retailer-specific displays for relevant channels and/or customers. Responsible for being an expert in display standards and guidelines within assigned channels and/or customers.
Works collaboratively with the Design team to execute display designs consistent with defined communication hierarchies and brand style guides.
Works collaboratively with the Design team to complete creative briefs for new creative or implementation of existing designs.
Recommends and tracks success metrics.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
Manages flow of information and requests from Brand Activation, Trade Marketing, Sales, etc.
Participates on cross-functional teams to develop new displays. Analyzes information to help set the sales forecast and financials. Writes creative briefs and recommends product layout.
Collaborates and manages external, strategic supplier relationships to create and deliver temporary, semi-permanent and permanent displays on time and on cost.
Effectively manages the timeline for creation and construction, fulfillment, execution and success measurement of secondary merchandising.
Collaborates with vendor on display structures, cost estimates and product layout.
Initiates artwork creation with a brief and kickoff session, manages the artwork timeline and secures final artwork approvals.
Supports Activation, Trade Marketing & Brand Teams in creating the launch plan for new products, including the development of displays that fit into the larger marketing plan.
Works collaboratively with 3rd party display supplier to articulate display needs while conscientiously managing display costs.
Supports the completion of proper P&L for effective display cost evaluation.
Works collaboratively with Operations/Sourcing to identify and develop merchandising productivity initiatives.
Manages display forecasting to ensure alignment with Demand planning.
1-2 years of experience working with a leading CPG company (Channel Management, In-Store Merchandising, Package Engineering, or related position). Internship experience will be considered
Project management skills and experience managing timelines.
Strong executional background.
Knowledge of the retail landscape.
Strategic thinking, self-starter with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with aggressive deadlines.
Ability to build strong business relationships across all functions of the organization.
Strong communication skills, written and oral.
Advanced analytical skills and computer software proficiency (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
